With a background deeply rooted in competitive skiing (slalom and giant slalom), I've spent years carving through challenges and mastering the art of skiing. And with now over a decade of experience as a ski instructor (Austrian certified) on the slopes LEVELUPSPORTS was born out of a desire to share my passion and expertise with others, helping them unlock their full potential and achieve their goals on and off the slopes.

Meet Erwin Smits: Your Expert Skiing Coach, Physotherapist and Biomechanics Expert

I’m Erwin Smits. I’ve been a ski instructor for 17 years and hold the Landeslehrer certification. Skiing is a highly technical sport, and I’m fascinated by understanding exactly what someone does in a turn — and why it feels the way it does.

I’m analytical and explain things in a concrete, practical way. I’m always looking for that one key cue that makes an immediate, tangible difference. With my background in physiotherapy, biomechanics, and movement science, I describe ski movements from both a technical and physical perspective. I can help with training approaches, load management, and ski-related injuries, ensuring that someone can continue training safely while improving their technique.
